Less realistic, more normal

Sometimes I just wonder why I even bother. I threw in Lost Planet last night and decided to give it a little love and what does it do? Locks up on me twice is almost the exact same spot/situation. I'm at a point where I jump out of my mech to get to a transmitter and the game locks up. I absolutely hate this game but it probably is just a bad disk. So I played RainbowSix instead and actually had some fun. I realized I was playing RS in realistic difficulty (thought I switched that up) and went down to normal and had much more success. I'm getting used to the cover system although I like the ability to stick to the walls in Gears over having to hold down the left trigger all the time. RS also has some issues shooting from cover. It may be just learning curve but Gears did it a lot better.

It's been a quiet week so far. We had a production release this week and all went smooth. One issue has popped up but will be resolved quickly. We have a max userId field on our tables of 8 but it seems users can have a portal username longer than that. We have a common module that takes care of this but some of the code behind the scenes was not using this module.

I've got Dune in HD at home and plan on watching that tonight. I really love this movie and am curious how it looks in HD. I'm not convince every movie looks better in HD. Hopefully this one will look great.

In another note the financials for all thee console makes has either come out or will next week. So far Nintendo is doing great and plans to have six million shipped by June, Microsoft has done well but is slowing down shipments and should have 12 million units shipped by June. Microsoft dropped it's numbers from 13-15 million to 12 million. Partly because you can't walk into a Best Buy not find a 360. MS plans to starve the market in an effort to sell existing inventory. What this probably means is MS has made the switch to the new CPU in their manufacturing and probably has added an HDMI port and will not be able to kick these out as fast as they would want. Plus by selling out existing inventory you can avoid having 4 different models of 360 in stores and avoid mass returns. We should hear from Sony next week. The PS2 sales will help them greatly but it will be interesting to see how many PS3s they think they can ship by June.
