The one about Bullet Witch

Time for the update! This week I bought Bullet Witch, an Action Adventure game out of Japan. The game takes place in a future where demons have been unleashed on earth and you are a bad ass, hot witch with a gun instead of a broom. The game play is very linear and you mostly just shoot a bunch of hell spawn as you go through the levels. The graphics are a bit poor for 360 standards and you often are saving the same soldier or civilian through out the game. The enemy AI does pick up at the end of the game and the story is actually good. It makes you wonder what could have been if they used the Unreal 3 engine and flushed out the characters more. Really this game is quick and good for a few achievement points. I've already beat the game on easy and normal. I get an achievement for maxing out my character so I'm going to do that and try to finish the Hard difficulty.

Right now there is not a lot of new games out there I want to play. I've grown tired of crackdown. I picked up a few miscellaneous achievements and could finish hunting for orbs but I need a break from grinding on Crackdown. I'll probably grind on Bullet Witch for a few more days then head off to Nevada for my golf trip. I'm spending next weekend playing golf with college friends.

Back to Bullet Witch. With games like this it's no surprise the 360 doesn't sell well in Japan. When you only have three or four good games on a console there is no good reason to buy one. Blue Dragon did well and I'm looking forward to it's release in the US but they need more. This is the same reason I'm passing on the PS3 and the Wii. Right now there are maybe two or three games worth playing on those systems. The PS3 will get some good titles but it looks like they will also be coming to the 360. The Wii has Mario and Zelda and that's about all she wrote. A recent survey showed most gamers with a Wii where not using it as their primary gaming system. Nintendo could sell a lot of Wiis to PS3 and 360 owners but if those gamers aren't buying many games for the system is it really a victory? How often can you play one game before getting sick of it? For me I think it's about a week for most games and maybe a couple months for really good games.
