GRAW 2 Impressions
One of the first games I truly enjoyed for the 360 was GRAW. I never played the series before but since it got such great reviews and there wasn't much out there to play I picked the game up and was very impressed. The game has a good story with long difficult missions that gave you a fell for urban conflict. So when I saw that GRAW 2 was coming out I knew I had to buy the game. I was a little concerned that the game came out so fast but it got good scores so I picked it up.
I've only completed the first act of the game so this is just my impressions so far. Graphically the game looks amazing. The special effects in this game like smoke, dust blowing in the wind, explosions and general environments look incredible. The cross com videos also are stunningly good. Now I played the first GRAW on my old TV over component so that might be part of the difference but wow this game looks good. I dare say this game looks better the RainbowSix Vegas and possibly Gears of War.
Now that I've gone gaga over the graphics the story picks off right after the first GRAW game. You've squashed the revolt in Mexico but now there is a new threat right on the boarder. So far the missions are a bit short and a lot easier. The missions in GRAW where epic long with lots of tasks. In GRAW 2 the mission are short and to the point. It feels like you get pulled out early in each mission so far. Still the game is very fun and I like the cover system which is very similar to Gear's cover system. I'm thinking I should have the campaign completed this weekend then I'll head into the multiplayer where I expect to spend most of my time.
