Work hard, Play hard
I've been thinking it's been a couple weeks since I've given a update. I've had a lot of gaming, development and tech news I've wanted to talk about. I have not been up to a whole lot away from work. Life with two kids at home is a lot different than having one. With Colin we had gotten into a real nice pattern of how we did things. I would wake up with him and have breakfast and watch some TV before I went to work. Then I'd come home and play with him and get dinner ready. After dinner Erin and I would rotate who would give Colin a bath and put him to bed. This would be before eight so we would have the rest of the night to ourselves to watch tv, movies or game.
This worked pretty well until we added Leah to the equation. It seem more and more I am taking the role of keeping Colin happy after work while cooking dinner and taking on more of the bath nights because Erin is tending to Leah. Then after bath I often take Leah for a while till she is hungry again or she falls asleep. This doesn't leave a lot of time for other things so I've noticed I'm now staying up much later to get what I want to do done. I'm staying up till midnight or one a.m. almost every night now.
've been playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance over that past couple weeks. This game really is not very good. It's a button masher action RPG with a party system. The story is not bad and is actually kind of interesting but the game play is just so dull. For the most part you hit the B button like crazy and will occasionally get to have some puzzles to solve that are very easy. The boss battles are all fairly easy except for th last one. Fortunately I've finished the game and now I can send it back to GameFly. Hopefully I will get something of quality next.
Four new maps will be available to purchase for Gears of War on Thursday. I'm looking forward to getting back into Gears a bit more till some of the new titles I'm looking forward to come out. I played some Gears this weekend and actually laid into the guys on the other team. I got suck with a couple guys that just sucked and the guys we played where good and decide to talk a lot of crap. Well I got a bit pissed and told them exactly what I thought of them and that they should grow some hair on their balls before hey could talk like men. That shut them up real quick. The problem with Xbox Live has always been the teenagers that get online and end up making it a horrible experience for everyone. I did give them bad feedback and put them on my avoid list so I know I will not be playing with them again.
I am looking forward to downloading Centipede from XBL Arcade tonight. The classic game is now available as a download only game on Xbox Live. I loved playing Centipede on the Atari as a kid. I used to have it on one of mu old PCs but have not paid the game for some time now. This gives me hope that maybe Poll Position and Tempest will eventually become Live Arcade titles.
I did manage to watch a movie this week, The Constant Gardener. The movie starts off a bit slow but is very interesting and is another film like Syriana that makes you feel a little sick. He we have a conspiracy to protect a large company by British instead of Americans. Is this just a lot of fear in big business and manipulating event s to tell an interesting story or is this based on some truth? Most likely it is a little of both.
