Giving my thumbs a break
From my last post you might be thinking I'm doing nothing but playing Forza but I am! I've spent most of my time playing Forza but I've also had some time to watch a couple movies and have started reading Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris. I have read all the other books in the Hannibal universe except Silence of the Lambs. I first picked up Red Dragon in an airport bookstore while I was traveling for work. I was sucked into that story and have enjoyed off of books surrounding this theme. The current book has been very good and it kind of odd but I feel empathy for Hannibal and it really shows how surviving a horrible tragedy can create a monster.
Of course I'm paying Forza still and will be for some time to come. This game has their achievements back loaded in the game since I've received something like 500 points since I got to level 40. I still have one more group of races and I have lots of cars to buy before I'm ready to move onto my next game.
Once I do move on I will have a plentiful selection of games to choose from. I can go play Dirt, The Darkness, Overload or The Bigs. Dirt is an off road rally racing game that looks really good and has a demo on Xbox Live. The Darkness is a FPS based on the comic book that features some cool demonic powers. Overlord is that funny game that spins the perspective on stories like Lord of the Rings where you get to play as the bad guy an defeat the "heroes" of the land. The Bigs is an arcade style baseball game and is being called the best baseball game made in over two years. This game has me intrigued so I'll give it a rental.
I also finally watch Chronicles of Riddick and Clerks 2 on HD-DVD. I remember seeing Clerks in theaters when it came out and it was a great movie. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in Clerks 2 but it was still a fun movie. I've seen parts of Riddick so I decided to watch the whole thing. Oh well, the movie is ok and has it moments but it's nothing special.
