Last thoughts on E3
One of the things I didn't get a change to do before I left was pump
out some more opinions on E3. There where a few games I thought looked
very interesting and should gain some interest once they get released.
I'm just going to write one post for this so here are the games and a
short opinion.
Halo 3: This game is a no brainer for Xbox fans. The news of interest is that the graphics for the single player will look awesome. After playing the beta some, including me, where a bit concerned the game would not look as good as the other games in the same genre.
Heavenly Sword: This PS3 game is an action game with a female main character that wields a large sword. It looks to follow the mode of God of War/Ninja Gaiden where it's a more modern hack and slash that takes some thinking. The game just looks fun and should sell very well.
Echochrome: This PS3 download game looks like M. C. Escher's art comes alive in a platform game. Honestly this looks like fun for about fifteen minutes but could be very addictive. You are a man that walks around a bunch of stairs and rotate the stairs to cover up the holes in the staircases. Hard to explain so hunt down the video on YouTube.
Little Big Planet: Another PS3 game that is a platformer that uses rag doll characters and allows players to create their own levels. This game was considered game of the year for most folks but I stopped playing platformers in the 90s.
Bioshock: This 360/PC title will be out this August and is a story heavy FPS where you play in an underwater utopia that has gone horribly wrong. This is the game with the "Big Daddies" that look like these hulking guys in WWII deep sea diving suits. This is a single player game only so don't expect any fun multiplayer mode.
Fallout 3: This multiplatform RPG is from the creators of Oblivion. It's a post apocalyptic RPG that follows the franchise themes. I only saw a trailer but it looks really cool.
The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass: This DS game looks a lot like what you would expect from a 2D Zelda game. This action RPG could be the first DS game I buy.
Call of Duty 4: This PS3/360 game is from the original COD developers and looks incredible. It will take place in the future where a rouge Russian general plots to return to communism and instigates a war in the Middle East and in Europe. This should be an awesome game.
Rock Band: Ever heard of Guitar Hero? Well this PS3/360 game takes it up a notch and allows you to have a real band with drums, base, guitar and vocals. The game has a deal with MTV so it should get some great songs and possibly entire albums.
Ok, this is the list of E3 games I thought looked interesting. By no means is this the only list of good games at E3 but from what I saw from E3 coverage these are the ones that stood out.
