One busy week
Last week was a crazy week that I'm glad is over. I returned from
Albany to find my copy of Harry Potter and commenced to read the heck
out of it and finish the book Wednesday night. I was very happy with
the book and felt the story finished well. I would love to see a wrap
up book so we would know what happened in all of the other characters.
At work I came back to seeing some progress being done on the application and a new contractor has started and providing some value. I was a bit disappointed no one picked up on some of the design work I had done. Not sure why the arch wants only me to work on the sequence diagrams but I've got some work to do. I did come back and figure out two nasty JSF errors that had already come up. One was an error where a form was created inside another form but it was causing a link not to execute and was very confusing. The other was with the generated code RAD loves to create for you when you create a JSF file. I hate IBM and their auto generated crap.
On Friday of last week I got some troubling news. My father has an infection and it's not healing so surgery was scheduled and performed on Friday. After some miscommunication I finally found out everything went well and some tubes where placed in my father to help drain the fluids around the colon. Hopefully this will speed up the healing process and get him out of the hospital sooner.
On Saturday I had family in town for Leah's baptism. It was a small family event. We chose to have the ceremony after mass. My camera has been acting up lately and I'm not sure if we just need to toss our rechargeable batteries of if the camera is bunk. We did record the ceremony on out camcorder and has some other family members taking pictures. It was good to have my family in town and Colin had fun spending time with them.
I finished Overlord and The Darkness and am now playing the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. TMNT is purely for the easy 1000 achievement points and it's a very short game. I liked Overlord a lot more than The Darkness and will get more into why in another post. There is a game drought right now and I'm relying on my GameFly queue to give me something worth playing. I really can't wait for Bioshock. That should hold me off till the mountain of games coming out this fall.
