Downloading movies

I've been watching a few movies off of the Xbox Live Marketplace lately.  I really wanted to see Zodiac while it was in theaters but never got a chance.  Since I was looking for something o watch I downloaded that and Beowulf and Grendel.  Zodiac was an interesting movie and was well done.  I've heard of the Zodiac killer but was to young to really know much about what he actually did.  I was a bit surprised to see that he killed so few.  I was a bit surprised that the police actually interviewed the guy yet could not make an arrest.

In High School I read Beowulf for British Lit and did a paper on the stories of Beowulf and Grendel.  So when I saw the movie was a download option I decided to give it a viewing.  The movie takes some liberty with the story but you get them theme of the book.  This movie was interesting to watch and well done.  I'd suggest it to anyone that enjoyed the story.  Does a lot better job than 13th Warrior's rip off of the story.

To wrap up my movie viewing I decided to rent Disney's Alice in Wonderland for Colin.  This movie did not hold his attention and does not stand the test of time.  This is one trippy movie that definitely reflects the time it was released.  I'm a bit disappointed with the Disney offerings on Xbox Live Marketplace.  Colin really likes watching the Shrek 3 trailers I've download so I was hoping one of the Shrek movies would be available but the selection is light and mostly older movies.

All of these movies I was able to start watching within ten minutes of downloading.  If the price is similar I'd much rather download a movie in HD than wait to receive one in the mail.  I have The Deer Hunter upstairs and just don't feel like watching the movie.  I'm almost at the point of canceling my Netllix account but am keeping it till I get through a couple more movies.  As a side note Netflix CEO says that they are not seeing any difference in HD demand.  Netflix has the entire catalog for each format and although demand for HD movies is very low they do not see one format taking the lead.
