Haze becomes PS3 Exclusive
It had already been reported that Haze would be a PS3 console exclusive
with a version for PC coming along side the PS3 version. Now it
appears to have become true PS3 exclusive with Ubisoft saying that haze
is currently only being developed for the PS3. This is a big win for
Sony since Haze is one of the better looking FPS coming out of Europe.
There seems to be a good story and the game play looks very similar to
Halo.
There are a couple of possible reason for this most recent move. Sony very well could have thrown a whole bunch of money at Ubisoft in an effort to steal away this game. Maybe the development was having issues with the PS3 build and decided to direct resources away from a PC version in an effort to seal up the PS3 version. Since the publisher is not really explaining one way or the other it could be any reason. What we do know is that Sony hopes this game can stand up against Halo 3 and hope that some of those FPS fans migrate over tot he PS3 this holiday season.
What will end up happening is the game will get released for the Xbox 360 and PC next Spring and will have some decent sales. Games are too expensive to publish on only one console anymore. If Sony is paying for an exclusive it's probably a timed exclusive. This is a hard core game that could help Sony sway more hardcore gamers but it will not appeal to the traditional Playstation fans. Those fans play RPGs and Action games for the most part while Xbox fans where known for their FPS love.
