Holiday Weekend
Over the holiday weekend I was a bit busy. The weekend started out
taking down the shelving in Colin's room. The previous owners put in
new shelves but they used a couple bars that ran to the floor because
the shelves did not do all the way across the closet. It was a really
half assed job.
On Saturday i got into a cutting mood so I cut down several of the little trees that were sprouting up in my backyard. In the last storm I had one tree fall down so I pulled that out of my mini-forest to be cut into fire wood. I found half of another tree had fallen so i pulled that out as well. It was a bit windy so i didn't burn any of the branches. I'll have to clean some of that up this week as I plan to cut down some more trees this weekend.
Sunday I started the day out right. I pulled out my golf clubs and hit some balls. I hit two buckets of balls with a friend and did some putting. I was a bit rusty when i started out but soon I was puring my irons like usual. I was a bit disappointed with my driver and may go back to my other Taylor Made R5. I need to get a round or two in by the end of the year but this season might be a bit lost for me. There is always next year.
I did get the opportunity to demostraight my mad Luminous Live skills. I was kicking but and taking names. We played Madden and Table Tennis but I will focus more on my successes in Luminous Live. I was happy with how I did in Madden. I had a short to win the game at the end but an errant pass dashed my hopes.
On Monday the family got in the car and we went to the fair. It's the busiest day to go to the fair but we had a good time. Colin got to go on the rides alone. It was fun to see him having so much fun at the fair. After exhausting our ride tickets we went to have some lunch. Colin had his first ever pronto pup which is really just a corn dog. After lunch we went to see the animals. Colin was not a fan of the rooster's or the horses because they where being bit loud for him. He really liked looking at the baby pigs and enjoyed the dairy cows. It was a very hot day and we were beat. Colin wanted to stay but it was time to head home.
I did play a little BioShock this weekend. I got the Research PhD and Avid Inventor achievements over the weekend. You need to invent 100 items in one visit to the Inventor station. To pull this off you need to avoid inventing things for a while and just let your inventory stack up. You also need to get the inventor tonic that automatically creates two of any item you create. Once you've done this you need to hack the Invention station. The achievement will popup while you are inventing so you'll know when you've hit the magic number. I'm now two achievements away from getting all 50 achievements. I need to complete the game on Hard (which I'm about 4/5 of the way through) and find all 56 tonics (40+ so far).
