Rumblings from Tokyo Game Show

The biggest news from TGS seems to be that Sony has decided to backtrack a bit and put rumble back into their controllers.  Sony had previously referred to rumble as a " last generation feature" but now that are bring rumble to the PS3 to the delight of many of their fans.  To the dismay of many of their fans it seems there will not be a 40GB $399 PS3 for this holiday.  Many gaming analysts predicted that Sony would be introducing a new lower end version of the PS3 in an effort to boost sales.  Sony has sold 5 million PS3s since launch and is trailing the Nintendo Wii ( 11.5 million) and Xbox 360 (11 million) in world wide sales.  Sony fans will also have to wait till Spring 2008 to get their hands on the PS3 UI upgrade Home.  Seems it's not as easy to rip off XBox Live as Sony thought.

Nintendo fans are rejoicing the news that the kingdom Hearts franchise is coming to the Nintendo DS.  Kingdom Hearts had been an exclusive multi-million selling franchise for the PS2.  Nintendo traditionally skips TGS so the only news about Nintendo is from 3rd part publishers.

Everyone was wondering when Team Ninja would announce Ninja Gaiden 2 and what platforms the game would ship on.  At Microsoft's press conference the game was finally announced and it will be published by Microsoft.  The game looks quite polished and almost looks like it could be ready this holiday season but expect the title to ship next holiday season.  Team Ninja is known for holding a game until it is absolutely perfect.  Another game announced for Xbox 360 is Rez HD, this Live Arcade title is a 3D shooter remake of the PS2/Dreamcast game from the developers of Luminous Live. If you head to Xbox Live Marketpalce you can see game play footage of Ninja Gaiden 2 and Lost Odyssey along with several game trails for Devil May Cry 4, Soul Caliber 4, Virtua Fighter 5 and Ace Combat.
