One of the major global flaws in Microsoft's Xbox 360 plans has been their inability to provide an Xbox Live Marketplace experience like in the Unites Sate to other regions.  Sure most other regions can play games, download demos and trailers but they have not gotten the movies or TV show downloads.  When Xbox Live launches in India November 5th the service will be a fully operational Xbox Live with special download content for India.  Microsoft will provide Bollywood movies and Indian cartoons as well as educational programming.  Microsoft has also established a partnership with Seventymm, India's version of Netflix, to offer Xbox 360 game rentals. 

This is the first announced extension of the Xbox Live Marketplace outside of the US.  It has been rumored that TV and Movie downloads will be available in Europe later this year.  Download content from Xbox Live Marketplace is the silver bullet of gaming consoles this generation.  The Xbox 360 is the ultimate trojan horse for getting consumers to look towards online services for renting HD movies and TV shows.  With the possible launch of IPTV this fall in the US people could be getting Xbox 360's not for the games but as a device for watching TV over the internet and downloading movies.
