General Gaming News
An interesting press release came out of Sony yesterday stating they
have tripled their Black Friday sales from last year. Sony is not
providing any solid numbers for this so we have no idea how they are
coming to this percentage. To counter this PR release the site
www.thebitbag.com has a post showing tons of PS3s in stores after Black
Friday. Sony only sold 197,000 units last November in the US and the
majority of those where on the launch day before Black Friday.

Halo 3 Legendary Edition is today's Amazon Gold Box deal. The cat helmet edition originally was $120 when Halo 3 came out, then Amazon dropped the price to $80 probably because they ordered too many. Well now they have it on sale for $60 today only! I bought one and used the free shipping so I'll now have a Master Chief helmet for my gaming shrine.

In the High Def media player fight it seems that BluRay is winning in Europe. Yet a different pr release stated that in North America HD-DVD has sold over 750,000 dedicated players, well past the number of BluRay players. As this battle rages on do not be surprised if we see BluRay in Europe and HD-DVD in North America. I don't see any one side giving up any time soon as consumers have gone on to show they are not ready for HD movies and the improvement in picture quality over upscaled DVD is marginal.
