I recently got the Game Informer's end of year edition which covers their top 50 games of 2007.  What caught me by surprise was the end of the section's Editor's picks for top ten games of the year.  Of the eight or ten editors only two had Halo 3 in their top ten list and neither had it very high.  To say the least I was a bit shocked.  To say Halo 3 is not one of the top 10 games of the year is an outrage.

Now I understand this is a subjective list and obviously Halo 3 is not for everyone.  Still I was a bit surprised that Halo 3 would not be held up for all of the extras placed into the game.  Most people had Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock on their list so it's not like they didn't play FPS games.  Several also had Portal or Orange Box on their list which is an inferior game.  

Now Game Informer has always been a bit low on my scale of respected game magazines. Now they are even lower on that scale.  The only reason I got the magazine was because it came with my Edge card from GameStop.  I'll probably renew my Edge card but I will not renew the magazine.
