Playing Ninety-Nine Night Again
One thing I've been doing lately
is play my Xbox 360 on my alt account while I listen to podcasts on my
PC. I'll start up a podcast then plug my 360 into mu computer monitor
(I really should look for a switch for video inputs). I don't have
sound in this setup but so far that hasn't bothered me.
Well I was originally just playing some arcade stuff but moved on to Ninety-Nine Nights. Now I played N3 a lot when I first got my Xbox 360. I was one of the few people that absolutely loved that game. It's a fantasy action button masher where you get to embrace your genocidal tendencies. It's all about getting huge combos and executing specialty moves.
The game got trashed by reviews mostly because it was a hard button masher with zero checkpoints that required you to replay the same set of levels several times. As you play through the game you get to unlock different characters and get to play the game from their perspective. The levels can get long the first time through because you don't really know where to go. Playing a 45 minute level then failing really does suck so i can see why it was not a critical success.
I found the game fun enough to play through the game several times and spent almost a whole month playing the game. I was a bit disappointed the game was completely sent to die by Microsoft with no marketing. I would have definitely bought a picture pack or theme if one was ever created. To bad no downloadable content was ever released. If you're interested in trying the game out a demo is still out on the Xbox Live game store.
