Kingdom Under Fire:Circle of Doom Impressions
I
spent a lot of time this weekend playing this game and kind of really
like it. The game has a solid repetitive game play of walk down path,
kill all the monsters that attack you, pick up all the loot they
dropped then repeat.
It's quite simple actually. From the loot you can find health potions
and new weapons, armor and accessories.
Eventually you level up and allocate points to Health, Stamina and Luck. Adding points to Health allows you to take more damage. Adding points to stamina allows you to use heavier weapons than have higher attack ratings. Adding points to Luck allow you to get better loot dropped. You need to balance this out and can't neglect one for another. As it works out Stamina costs the most, followed by Luck and then Health.
So far the boss fights have been good. I've beaten the first three bosses in the game. The first one is very easy and doesn't take much challenge. The next two can be tough but it depends on how leveled up you are and how good your weapons are. Like most RPGs the more you grind the more beefed up your character gets and the easier the game gets.
Now it you don't mind the repetitiveness of this game's six environments and enjoy beating stuff up and collecting their loot this game just might be for you. To me this is not too far from many RPGs out there where you have a so so story but have repetitive combat with the occasional boss fight. I don't think many hard core RPG fans will enjoy this game but the casual Action RPG fan that likes hack and slash combat should find this game a real treat. If you have a friend with similar tastes the game does offer online co-op.
