Weekend Update
I'm sure you all have heard that HD-DVD in on the ropes and BluRay is in place to win the high definition movie format war. For me this kinda really sucks because I do have a bunch of HD-DVDs. Since the Warner Home Movies deal I've stopped buying movies entirely. I will eventually buy a BluRay player but not anytime soon.
I still can rent HD-DVDs from Netflix so over the weekend I watched the disk 4 of Heroes. I didn't watch the first season and only caught a few episodes in reruns. Its fun to get caught up on the different story lines I only got bits and pieces of from season two. It's crazy to me that a TV show would have o be on so many HD-DVDs but I guess when you are dealing with a 1080p image it takes up a lot more space on a disk than an standard def picture.
I watched the season premier of Lost this week. I really love that show and the one thing that stuck with me was Hurley calling out he's part of the "Oceanic Six." So are there only six survivors? I love how this show always puts questions in your head. On a related note there is a free Oceanic theme available on Xbox Live Marketplace. By downloading it you automatically register for a sweepstakes where you can win some cool stuff. It's not a bad theme either, I'm using it as mine now.
I finally finished Assassin's Creed which is totally awesome. It is definitely a must for any action game fan. The stealth parts of the game are easy and I'm sure you could have played the game with more stealthily than I did. The end of the game does get a bit hard and a bit annoying. My recommendation for the very last guy is use your throwing knives.
Now all of last year there was normally one big Xbox 360 title released each month. This year should be the same but it may not work out that way. The big game of January was Burnout Paradise, February will be Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Odyssey, March will be Rainbow Six:Vegas 2 and in April it will be Grand Theft Auto 4. So far Burnout has done ok but will not be shattering sales records. This is mostly because the games from last Holiday season are still selling well, especially Call of Duty 4. I expect this trend to stop when Devil May Cry 4 comes out next week.
