Played The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai
After the XNA announcement I decide to give some of the games a try. After downloading the XNA Launcher I went and checked out what games I could try out. Since Dishwasher was the one title I'd hear about I decided to give it a shot. This game is developed with Microsoft's XNA software by a single developer.
The game is a classic side scrolling hack and slash that uses some comic panels to tell the story. All you know is you died but are now alive without a heart and a bunch of guys are dropping from the ceiling to fight you. The game has some easy to lean combos and offers some finishing moves.
Besides having a story mode there is an arcade model as well. In this mode you pretty much just kill everything that pops up. You have one area to defend as zombies and guys with guns attack you. I can see this being a lot of fun with co-op where you just try to kill everything that moves.
Overall the game is simple but enjoyable and controls well. I really liked the artwork in the game which has Sin City feel to it. The game is very violent and the finishing moves are not Mortal Kombat over the top but are close. The game is free to download but is a 17 day trial version. Not sure if you'll be able to buy the full version in the fall but I think this game was originally coming to Xbox Live Arcade.
