Buying a New TV
Either today or this weekend I'm going out to buy a new TV for the bedroom. The TV in my bedroom is the only TV in our house that is not HD capable. I've got a 37" Vizio in the basement which I watch movies and play games on. I also have a 32" Sony Tube that can do 1080i in the family room that is most used by my wife and the kids to watch TV and SD movies.
Currently the 20" Sony sits on our armour but now Colin is tall enough to reach the TV to turn it off. Erin is concerned he'll somehow bump it and it'll fall on him so we've decided to get a small LCD to replace the current set. When it comes to purchasing TVs I'm a bit obsessed about getting the right one. I really like the quality of a Sony and have been impressed by the picture quality of Samsung. Still when I got my TV fr the basement I did my research because I wanted to get as large a tv as I could afford.
What I found was that Vizio made a really nice LCD for about half the price of the comparable Samsungs and Sonys out there. Currently the other LCD makers have dropped their prices and are more comparable with Vizio. Still I think I'll be able to walk into Circuit City and pick up a Vizio for $100 less than the Smasung (Sony doesn't offer a 20" LCD). I'm still going to shop around and see what's the best deal out there but for me it's really just between Samsung and Vizio.
