So I pretty much went from playing Devil May Cry nonstop to playing Lost Odyssey exclusively over the past couple days.  I never played a Final Fantasy game so I can't compare it to any of those games.  I'm strictly an Xbox gamer and most of these titles snuffed the Xbox last generation. 

So far I'm just starting out on the second disk (there are four) and I've got about 16 hours into the game.  I'm finally getting a hang of the turn based combat and the strategies you need to employ when you get yourself into some of the harder battles.  Each character is either good at weapon based attacks or good with magic.  You need to balance out who should attack who and when should you use magic or items to give health to members in your party.

I'm really enjoying Lost Odyssey and would highly recommend this game to those that enjoy a good adventure.  For me this game has a good balance of gameplay and cinematics.  The cut scenes are not overwhelming like some games and the combat might be random but can be challenging to figure out the correct attacks.  The game does have a bit too much reading and some poor save point locations but these are minor compared to how fun this game is to play.
