On Tuesday, March 25th the Halo 3 Heroic map pack will be free for everyone.  This map pack includes the three maps: Standoff, Foundry and Rat's Nest.  If you skipped buying these maps back when they came out you can now go out and download these maps for free and see why they totally sucked.  These maps were way to large for anything less than big team battle or some other game type that requires 10+ players. 

By offering these maps free they are hoping to get you back into Halo 3 just in time for the new Halo 3 maps due out in mid April.  I expect the new maps will be $10 then will go free after a set period of time.  Lets hope the new maps are smaller and are better for 2v2 matches.  I'll be downloading the new maps once they come out and get some more games online. 

So hopefully the prospect of free maps will get more people back into Halo 3.  I know I played a couple matches yesterday.  I need to get a lot more games of Halo 3 in because it is a fun online game.  It will be nice to play some slayer matches on maps other than guardian and the pit.
