Xbox 360 Wireless Headset Redux
When this item first came out I was one of the first people to pick one up. It was good for a while but eventually had a lot of issues and I ended up putting it away. I pulled it out recently and it was toast. Not sure what happened but it would not work. This would be the fourth headset I'd gone through since I got my 360.
It seems I can not keep these headsets working very long. The one that came with the system ended up getting destroyed by my son one day. I don't exactly remember what happened but it got snapped and never worked again. It's replacement didn't last much longer. This one I think my daughter destroyed. She is always hunting down my headset, looking in drawers of it, and she likes to suck on the fuzzy end. I then got a Plantronics one that actually still works but has seen better days.
So last weekend I bought a new wireless headset. It's different from the original one and works really well unlike the original model. The old one would often lose it's connection with the console and I'd get shotty service. Half the time I talked no one would hear me or it would end up being garbled. This weekend I played in the Halo 3 double XP weekend and did not have a single problem. I ended up partnering up with a few guys and a really good time.
It's early to say if all the problems have been solved but so far it's working out. The kids seem to ignore this one and still prefer to go after the Plantronics headset instead. I'm getting back into Halo 3 right now so I'll probably be using the new headset a lot more. If it continues to work I'll keep you all informed.
