The Games I'm Gaming
Another week is coming to a close and it's time to talk about what I'm playing. For the most part the past week has been my return to playing Xbox 360 games. This week has been dominated by Ninja Gaiden II which I'm happy to say I'm loving. After having so much trouble getting through the original game, I'm finding the sequel to be much more user friendly. I have so far gotten to chapter 11 (of 14) in the game and feel that the game has some flaws but overall it is still a very enjoyable game.
All the slicing and dicing in Ninja Gaiden II made me throw in my 360 copy of Devil May Cry 4. It's interesting to compare these two games because they are the pinnacle of action gaming. it is clear that DMC4 has a lot more polish and is probably just as accessible as Ninja Gaiden II. The combat in Ninja Gaiden II is better that Devil May Cry 4 mostly because the AI of the attackers is much better. You really don't have to worry about being double or triple teamed in DMC4 while in Ninja Gaiden II it is a distinct possibility. Still the camera and lock-on features in DMC4 make it a lot less frustrating than managing the camera in Ninja Gaiden II.
I have also been trying to give some time to Resistance: Fall of Man on the PS3. By far I'm not playing this game as much as I should. This title was a launch game for the PS3 and it's a first person shooter that takes place in an alternate reality where WWII never happened. It's kind of a sci-fi shooter taking place in 1950's England with weapons way more advanced than available at the time. So far the game is competent with some interesting guns but it's not compelling enough to get me away from Ninja Gaiden II.
In the mail yesterday came Haze for the PS3. This was the latest wannabe Halo 3 killer that has just bombed. Needless to say no one is running to the stores to buy this game. I played the demo thought it had some good qualities but looked like it needed another coat of paint. I'm interested to see if the game has any salvageable parts.
