Beaten by Ninja Gaiden II
Normally when I finish a game I feel some joy for beating the game but with Ninja Gaiden it seems the game has beaten me. After pouring 17 hours into the game I have come to the realization I will probably not be able to beat the final boss. Now I've played a lot of games in my day and there are games I'm just decided to give up on because they weren't fun or something better came around. I can't think of any game i made it to the final boss and decided to stop playing.
Part of the game mechanisms toward the final levels of Ninja Gaiden II is to through several bosses at you. You will end up fighting every previous boss at least once and often they will switch up the scenarios like have you fight two instead of one or maybe back-to-back. Really this is all fine for me. The only problem i have is I absolutely suck at using the bow.
So I hit the final boss and you need to beat him using the bow while you avoid his attacks. I've actually gotten fairly far with him since you have to fight him at multiple levels. The problem becomes I'm not very good at aiming the bow. Most FPS use a circle or some other aiming device for shooting, well Ninja Gaiden II uses a small red dot that I have a really hard time lining up. So I'm often getting hit, taking damage while I try to aim this thing up. It is extremely frustrating that i have to use a bow to beat this guy.
Since I still enjoy the game I've decided to start playing again on the next difficult up. So far I've found the boss battles in the first three levels easier then the first time but the levels are a bit more challenging. Seems to me that the only real difference between difficulties is how many people you fight at a time. You also get less health from the blue orbs too. I can see some of the later levels being crazy hard since some attackers are really hard to kill. I may just see how far I can get through the game then go back and fight that boss battle. I just need to get some more practice with that dam bow.
