Preparing for the Fall
So right now I've completed Ninja Gaiden II and have decided to send Condemned 2 back to GameFly so I've got nothing new at home to play. Well I have been having a serious craving for playing the three bigs games I looking forward to seeing this fall: gears of War 2, Fable 2 and Forza 3.
So far I've only pulled out the first Gears game and have been playing the online multiplayer. It was a bit rough starting since it was a first to 19 round game where I got 8 or 9 kills. It was not to fun and my teammates made sure to remind me I was the weakest link. My next couple games though I did much better and easily back among the top two in my next two games. I even had a round where i got all four kills.
I've been reading about the next Gears game and I am excited. They have been spending time improving the match making by adding 5v5, new game modes and fixing the downed issue by allowing you to crawl. They have also added a bunch of new execution moves and the ability to use an enemy's body as a shield.
With the news that there will be some Fable 2 pub mini-games coming to XBLA I'm stoked for those. They are free to those that preorder the game and will allow you to earn gold to be used in Fable 2. In the collector's edition there will be a miniature Hob packed in as well. I hope to hear more about this game soon because it really is the one game I'm most looking forward to playing.
There has been a lot of Forza news brewing around lately as well. There has been talk that the game will be so big you'll need two disks. Partly because there will be so many new tracks and cars. I really hope they just start releasing this stuff as DLC or maybe have the second disk be an install disk so you never have to access the disk once you've started playing. My steering wheel has not had much use lately so I'd like to give it some play time.
Now the summer doesn't look so bleak this year. I have heard good things about Bad Company and I still have not had a chance to play GRID yet either. We are just around the corner from getting Madden '09 and Too Human as well. The stack of games I'd like to play is only getting taller. Now that I have two consoles I have even more games I can play and it's not easy keeping up.
