Bungie's new game announcement stopped by Microsoft
There was a lot of excitement this week because it was heavily rumored that Bungie, the developers of the Halo games, would be announcing their new game yesterday. They even put up a podcast talking about the announcement and had made changes to their website promoting the announcement. Well something must have happened because Microsoft decided to pull the announcement.
I think it's safe to say that any Bungie game in development would not be ready in 2008 so all we really missed out on was possibly a trailer. One has to wonder if Microsoft didn't decide to spend more of the press conference on showing off their new user interface and their casual games. Microsoft lead off with Fallout 3, Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 but every game following then was a game targeted at the casual market. We may see some big announcement at the Penny Arcade Expo which will be six weeks from now.
