In all fairness I think I should post on the Nintendo conference even through there is very little that appeals to me on their systems.  I haven't seen anything that is making me feel like I need to go out and buy a Wii.  Again Nintendo spent most of the conference bragging about how they are the hip console for the casual crowd.  For the most part they spent their time showing off the games the casual gamers will buy.

There will be seeing Animal Crossing game coming to the Wii.  The game looks just like the GameCube version.  Then there is a Shawn White snowboarding using the balance board, a Call of Duty game using the zapper and a new Mii game called Wii Sports Resorts.  The resort game is a collection of min games that use the new Wii MotionPlus add on for more precise waggling.  the game will come with the MotionPlus bundled in so I'm sure it'll sell millions.  The resort game will be out in Spring of 2009.  Wii Music is also finally coming out this year where you get to play instruments using the wii mote and balance board.

On the DS the only game that looked some what appealing was a GTA game.  Seems to be a modern GTA game so it will be interesting to see if it's any good.  There will be another Pokemon game coming out as well and another cooking game too.  There is some new functionality in the DS for wifi but I doubt anyone will actually use.

Overall this press conference was a huge disappointment for me.  There was nothing that looked interesting at all to a hard core gamer like myself.  There was a little hint at a new Zelda and Mario game in the works but everything else seems to be typical Nintendo rehash.  Hopefully the Sony conference will be more interesting.
