By now it's news that Favre will be reporting to training camp on Monday.  Now I'm a life long Packer fan and there are only two things I hope for on a Sunday afternoon: a Packer win and a Viking loss.  Now for 16 years Brett Favre has been the only quarterback for the Green Bay Packers that mattered.  He was very influential on bring the Packers back from oblivion.  He definitely was not the only reason considering we had GMs like Wolfe and coaches like Holmgren and Sherman.

I personally am in the camp that I hoped that Favre would retire.  He has been a great QB but I'm convinced he does not have the fire to win a championship anymore.  I watched that Giants game and I think he put everything out there and it was not enough.  I do not think Favre wanted to lose to New England in  the Super Bowl so he subconsciously made sure that didn't happen.  I believe he lost that game for us just like he lost the Dallas.

Now when I heard that Favre was reconsidering and that he was upset the Packer organization wasn't grateful enough to him that was the end for me.  He was the spoiled brat that didn't get enough praise so he decided to quit.  Well now he wants his release from the team.  He had stated to wants to play for the one team I absolutely hate.  Now he is playing a game of chicken with the Packers.  He wants to be released and is hoping the Packers give him that release.  

On Monday Brett will report to the team.  Green Bay has said they will let him fight for his former position.  Personally I hope his plane crashes.  I honestly can not stand what he has done and I hope the Packer organization sticks with Aaron Rogers and lets Brett ride the bench the entire season.   Let Brett hold onto that clipboard as the 3rd team QB with no hope of getting any playing time.  Actually, considering Favre is on the cover of Madden '09 he will most likely suffer some serious injury so let him play.  I 'll be watching and waiting for the hopefully career ending injury.
