With all the great games coming out in August it's a good thing I just had a birthday.  So far this month I have already bought two Xbox Live Arcade games (Geometry Wars Revolved 2 and Braid) and will be buying Madden '09 and Too Human.  Plus I picked up New Super Mario Bros for the DS this week.  

I rented Soul Caliber IV and was playing that but then this week came around and I have not picked it up once.  I'm kind of liking the game but obviously not enough keep me playing.  I really have not been playing that much Geometry Wars 2 but it is a cool game and I will be playing it more.  

The big time suck this week has been Guitar Hero Aerosmith completing the game's Easy career mode.  The game is a nice mix of Aerosmith classics, some lesser known songs and other bands that played with Aerosmith.   I was happy to play songs like "Sex Type Thing", "All the Young Dudes" and other classic rock songs.  Since I got the version with the guitar I now have two so that I can play co-op with my wife.  We were busy unlocking songs and racking up co-op achievements.

I played through three of the worlds in Braid last night.  I am a bit perplexed on how to get to some of the different puzzle pieces in the different worlds.  I'm missing three pieces on World 2 and on the other worlds I am missing a lot more.  The game gradually introduces new game mechanics used to solve puzzles over time.  It's a bit crazy to get all these abilities mastered.  I think I'll be working on these puzzles for a couple days.
