Piracy Plagues Spore
So the game that created a huge amount of buzz over it's anti-piracy software (DRM) has been stolen over 170 thousand times on bit torrent. Considering that there was so much attention to Spore in the PC community before it's launch it seems likely that because of it's DRM many have chosen to just steal the game rather than purchase a copy. The DRM these people so venomously dislike prohibits the consumer from installing the game more then three times.
I tend to have no respect for people that pirate software. Often these people are very weak arguments saying they only do it because they don't want to pay for a bad game or a broken game. Fact is if they would more than likely steal a copy of any highly thought of game if they had the chance. Since they are not walking into someones home or a store and stealing a physical item they often feel no remorse from their actions either. Unfortunately in the games industry stealing software is often a crime that goes unpunished so it continues to occur. Eventually there will be no big budget games developed anymore for the PC as the developers turn their focus towards game console which are more difficult to hack.
