Games of the Fall
There are a lot of good games coming out this fall but here is a few of the ones I'm really looking forward to playing:
Probably the biggest game coming out this Holiday season has to be Gears of War 2. I will be lined up outside some store at midnight to get my copy of gears. This is the biggest game coming out on any platform this holiday season.
My second game has to be Fable 2. When I played the first Fable it was probably the first game I ever played twice. I played the first time as a good person and the second as a bad person. This time around the action RPG is planning on having more consequences for your decisions and is introducing 2 player co-op over Xbox Live. I can't wait to see what is in store for me in Fable 2.
I can't say I know much about Fallout 3 but I hear it's Oblivion in a alternate reality where the US is devastated by nuclear attack. The Fallout series has a strong pc fan base so it will b interesting if this game will meet their expectations. I loved Oblivion so I'm sure going to give Fallout 3 a chance. This is another action RPG in what seems like a year full of action RPGs.
Another October game I'm looking forward to is Dead Space. This is a first person action/horor game where you are sent to explore a space ship that has gone silent. This game has an Event Horizon feel to it so I expect to see some really messed up stuff.
Another RPG I'm looking forward to is The Last Remnant. This Japanese RPG is coming from Square Enix and should be very a fun game.
The one casual game I'm looking forward to is Lips. This is a karaoke game shipping for the Xbox 360 that allows you to plug in your mp3 player and sing to those songs. The game will come with two mics as well so it really makes playing with others easy.
Closing out the list is Resistance 2 for the PS3. The first game in the series was a very solid FPS that mixed sci-fi with a 1940s feel. The game may take place in the past but it sure doesn't use the old guns you'd expect to see from a 40s era game. Considering the ambitious 64 player multiplayer plans I'm curious how all that work.
This lineup may not be as impressive as last years' but I think there are several good games to play. I'm not even looking at what may be coming out on the Wii or DS. There are a couple games I'm keeping on my radar to see how they turn out like Little Big Planet, Fracture and Left 4 Dead. It seems we always get a bountiful harvest of games during the fall and they will keep us busy well into the new year.
