Biden, Palin and Master Chief?
I think to think of myself as moderately aware of the world around me so I decided to watch the VP debate tonight. Well, with a twist. I was using my Picture-in-picture feature in my TV so I was really listening and watching the debate while I played a little Halo 3 multiplayer. Maybe my expectations of Palin have been lowered a bit listening to people in the media talk so poorly of her but I was impressed. I felt she hit all the good points needed to get a conservative leaning individual like myself interested again in McCain.
In all actuality I really hate voting for democrats. I don't believe in universal health coverage, high taxes, big government or expanding powers of the central government. This also means I'm not too happy with he current Republican leadership either. I tend to think the Republican part has been hijacked by the bible banging social conservatives that aren't so fiscal conservative and seem to think the central government should have all the power and intervene everywhere. To hell with a free market, lets just bailout all wall street and hope throwing a ton of money at the problem will fix the issues with our over priced housing market and prop up bad debts.
If anything i cam out of the debate feeling that there is not real different between the two candidates. They both will increase spending, increase inflation and play Washington politics. Biden keeps saying McCain's plans are different than Bush's but he never bothers to explain why their plans are different. I'm pretty sure I heard Bush talk about clean coal and nuclear power eight years ago and now here we have Joe Biden talking up those same energy options. Both are also willing to create new money to bail out the banks which will increase inflation and pro pone the inevitable crash.
