Welcome to the United Socialists of America

So after watching the debate last night I have come to the conclusion that the American public is tired of thinking for themselves and just wants the government to tale care of them.  Why have any personal responsibility when you can just let the government protect you from the cold hard world.  It's time to take more money from the successful and give it to the failures of the world.  I wonder how well we will innovate and create new ideas when there really is no benefit to the individual contributers.

It is clear America wants the government to give them more entitlements.  We should just give everyone a state run health care program, give homes to those that can't afford to own one and remove all risk from investing on the stock market.  Why not make every stock worth the same amount and only allow them to increase in value?  Life should be fair and no one should lose.

I wonder who will take our place as the world's innovators.  Which country will step up and reward it's hard workers.  Who will create the next telephone, TV, airplane, cellphone, computer, internet or space program?  The US will be too busy rewarding the slackers and mediocre to be concerned about the best and the brightest.

Has it been that long that the US has forgotten about the USSR and eastern Europe?  Does life in China look that great there that we want that here?  How about life in Venezuela?  Is Obama just an African American version of Hugo Chavez?  I'm beginning to think the US is sliding more and more towards a socialist state.  If the US elects Obama as it's president I suspect life will be extremely different for most folks.  This is a man that will be giving handouts to every one that comes calling and will have a rubber stamp democratic congress behind him.
