After getting home from the midnight launch of Fable 2 I delved right into the game.  So far I have been very impressed with how beautiful the game looks and how the game just feels like Fable.  I loved the first Fable and played through the game as a good guy and a bad guy.  So far the game feels just like the original but with slight changes.

In the first game you had a mini-HUD that showed you exactly where you needed to go.  This time around that's not the case since the HUD is gone entirely but you will be lead around by your dog and a gold pixie dust trail showing you were to go.  So far I have not veered off the main quests path too much so I'm not sure how it will handle free exploration.  

The introduction of the dog is by far the best new feature.  I named mine Maxwell and by praising him and playing with him he has managed to help me find a lot of gold.  Just like the first Fable you are given a spade to help you dig up treasure.  Your dog can sniff out buried treasure or find hidden treasure chests in caves or in towns.  In short the dog totally rocks and is your loyal companion.  

I'm not very far in but the game is looking great.  I do not think this game will sway people that disliked the first Fable but it will be a hit among those that loved the first game.  I think Fable 2 will get more of a break over the length of the content than the original did since other RPGs like Mass Effect have not broken the 20 hour barrier.  This game is not made for the hard core RPG fans but it's made for the casual video game fans.  The combat is fairly easy and the story is short enough you won't spend months playing the game.
