That is one thing Xbox 360 gamers have never heard while playing games until now.  As part of the NXE update you will be able to install your games onto your hard drive.  This will allow you to play the games from your hard drive instead of from the not so quiet DVD drive.  You will still have to have the disk in the DVD drive but the drive will not spin the DVD so its amazingly quiet.

So far I have installed Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 to my hard drive.  I really haven't noticed much improvement in game play or faster loading screens but then again I wasn't exactly timing those before for a comparison.  The big difference for me is that the games run a lot quieter.  Gears of War 2 is under 7 GB once installed on your hard drive so anyone can choose to install at least one game.  The install process took maybe five minutes to complete.  I may choose to uninstall games I'm not playing anymore and I'm not sure if I will install rented games.

I really think that the NXE is really vast improvement on an already excellent game console user interface.  Having the ability to install a game to improve your gaming experience is a nice add.  Thankfully you are not required to install any games and it's a fast process.  This is one of those features you don't have to take advantage of in case you don't have the space on your hard disk.
