How NXE saved revived Fable 2 for me

I tend to never pick up a game after I have played through it once to completion of the main story.  I may go back and play some multiplayer if it's a shooter but it seems for me once I've finished the game then started another game I'll never go back to that first game.  I've moved on emotionally from the game and just don;t feel compelled to play more.  Well it seems Fable 2 has sucked me back into it's wonderfully beautiful world.

I always knew I would play Fable 2 twice, once good and once evil, but with Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3 right on it's heals I wasn't sure if I'd have enough time.  I was definately playing Gears of War 2 on launch.  In fact I decided I wouldn't play Fallout 3 till December so I would have enough time for Gears 2 and Fable 2.  Things just didn't really work out that way.  I did complete the good path though Fable 2 before Gears 2 launched and I even started a second play though as an evil character.  I just never felt compelled to push my way though with that Evil character.  Instead I started playing Gears 2 through to completion and spent a fair amount of time in the multiplayer.

Eventually I decided to go back to playing more Fable 2 on my evil path.  This was just not working out for me though.  I didn't like the evil path in the game and ended up starting a third character playing down a middle of the road path.  I eventually stopped playing Fable 2 entirely and threw in Fallout 3.  After not feeling compelled by Fallout 3 I went back to playing more Gears of War 2.

Well something happened two nights ago, I decided in install Fable 2 on my Xbox using the NXE feature.  It is kind of crazy how much installing the game actually made me enjoy Fable 2 more.  Before Fable 2 spun like crazy in my DVD drive making so much noise I could barely hear the game's background music.  After the game install the 360 was so quiet I could fully experience Fable 2's world and if feel like the game was more colorful and lush.  I acknowledge installing the game won't improve graphics but I do think that now the game is in a much better harmony of sight, sound and interaction.

I completed the main story line for my slightly corrupt but neutral good v. evil character.  I'm also surprised to see how much more there is to experience after completing the main quest lines.  I've checked and I completed 15 individual quests so far but seem to still have another 14 available.  Several of these quests only seem to show up until after you've completed the main story line.  After playing so much Oblivion I had hoped that Fable would follow the same model by adding quests for after the main story line was completed.  I may spend more time in Fable 2 than I ever planned thanks to the quieter experience.
