Games to look forward to in 2009
At first i have to admit I wasn't to excited for 2009 since I just didn't recall many games coming out next year. For the most part we will not know what the big Xbox 360 games coming out in the second half of '09 untill GDC. Most of the games I am looking forward to play are multiplatform or PS3 exclusive games it seems.
Resident Evil 5 - The action horror game will be my first exposure to the franchise. I'm looking forward to trying this game out and seeing how it plays. I've enjoyed the movies but since the games have not come out on a Microsoft console they have not entered my home.
Halo Wars - This one is one I will try but have low expectations for. I like Halo but will I lake a Halo RTS??? Probably not but I'm willing to give it a try.
Killzone 2 - From what I've heard this is a beautiful game but may be lacking on the game play. I have to give this a try because of all it's notoriety and what else am I going to do with my PS3.
Afro Samurai - I've not followed the TV show but it sounds like this game's hack and slash style game play will scratch that itch.
Street Fighter 4 - I will be buying this game just because it's been so long since I'm actually played any Street Fighter. I enjoy fighting game but they don't love me for the most part.
Grand Theft Auto:Chinatown Wars - What else will I play on the DS next year?
Fight Night Round 4 - I really Round 3 on the 360 and will be playing this one. Again it's a fun fighting game with interesting controls and incredible graphics.
Bayonetta - This game looks like a rip off of Devil May Cry 4 but since it's from the original DMC creator it may be awesome.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - I enjoyed the first Uncharted but felt is was not an amazing as some others did. This has been one of the very few PS3 new IPs that has actually succeeded. Again I need to occasion turn on my PS3 so I'll be playing this one.
God of War III - The God of War games have been considered some of the best action games made last generation. I'm curious if this is just an overrated franchise or there is some credibility to the claims.
I have to admit there are a lot more PS3 games on this list than I would have expected. Almost every game on this list will be available for the PS3. I still think Microsoft will have some huge announcements later in the year but for now Sony is looking like they should have a very solid lineup. A lot of people felt 2008 would be the year of the PS3 but I didn't think it would happen. I do think 2009 looks promising for the PS3 but at $399 they stand no chance.
