All Fronts DLC coming to Gears of War 2
This is kind of old news
but there will be new content coming to Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360
in July. The package, called All Fronts, will contain seven "new"
multiplayer maps and a new chapter to the campaign. The entire package
is retailing for $20 on Xbox Live marketplace or as a code you can buy
in a store. The content will also include all the previously available
maps packs released on Xbox Live. Of the seven "new" maps one is a
Gears 1 map called War Machine.
The new campaign chapter is called Road to Ruin which takes place when Dom and Marcus sneak into the Hallow. Of the screen shots I've seen they have show Marcus in the uniform of a Theron Guard. Apparently you have the option of playing the mission in stealth or by going guns blazing like usual. I'm not a huge fan of stealth games so I'm interested in how and why the mission has stealth.
Now I like to think most companies don't purposely screw consumers. I also accept the fact there is a tax for adopting something early. The fact Epic is releasing new about the new DLC almost two months before the content is ready is a red flag. I'm sure people will be pissed that the new content will be priced the same for anyone buying the content. Placing those all the existing maps in the pack for "free" will annoy people who've already purchased the content. I think that since the announcement was made so far in advance, they how that people will forget their anger by the time the content is released.
