It was recently reported that the sequel to one of the best games this generation, BioShock, has been delayed till 2011.  I played through the original twice because it was an incredible game, unlike any I've ever played before.  It seems that the sequel has been delayed because of quality issues.

If you are unaware, the lead developer behind the original game is not associated with the sequel.  An new studio was created from some of the original team that worked on BioShock.  It was rumored that many people didn't like working for the lead designer so they got the job of creating the sequel without him.  Needless to say that has to be a significant disappointment for any fan of the original game.  It's like saying Cliffy B will not be involved with Gears of War 3.  The expectation of quality immediately drops.

This news of a delay because of quality is another significant issue.  It's clear the game isn't going to make the this holiday season.  It will most likely be banished to a January or February release.  I will definitely play the sequel no mater the review scores but my expectations are dramatically lower.
