Broken Steel: Fallout 3's Real Ending

So over the weekend I was a bit hobbled from getter a wisdom tooth extracted and decided to buy the Broken Steel game add-on for Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360.  This new content modifies the current ending of Fallout 3 and adds some additional content to the game.  If you have already completed Fallout 3 you will need to pick a save point close to the end of the game and replay the ending to reach the new content.

The additional content is a very nice add on to Fallout 3 providing a better conclusion of the story and increasing the level cap.  The new level cap comes with new perks to your player.  I was able to complete the content in six hours of highly enjoyable game play.  By far the best download content I've experienced on the Xbox 360.

It's hard to talk about Broken Steel without spoiling the ending of Fallout 3.  If you have not finished Fallout 3 then I suggest you stop reading.  The gaming community generally treated the ending of Fallout 3 with disdain.  Unlike in Oblivion when you complete the final quest in Fallout 3's main quest line the game is over.  If there were side quests you wanted to play, too bad.  If you had an older save point you could start playing from that point.

What really got people was it was a stupid ending.  At the end you have the option of risking your life or of a friend.  No matter what you chose the game ended.  Plus depending how you played you had a companion that could withstand the radiation and could have easily accomplished this task for you.

Broken Steel fixes this issue by allowing you to survive the radiation exposure.  After you recover from the incident at the end of the main quest you are thrown back into the fight against the Enclave.  You will engage in three missions that will help drive the Enclave from the DC wastelands.  The ending of the Broken Steel quests is the true ending to Fallout 3 in my book.  It was as challenging a mission as I have encountered in Fallout 3.
