Played Brookview GC Sunday [Golf]
I got in an early round last Sunday at Brookview Golf Course. I tend to view Brookview
as my home course even through I'm not a member. I'd say I play 50% of
the time at Brookview. I know the greens and I which clubs to hit at
all times. The course is relatively short and requires you to use
clubs other than your driver off the tee. If anything I'd say I play
my 3 wood more off the tee than driver.
Sunday was looking pretty ugly Sunday morning. It was raining and as I drive tot he course there was thunder. Obviously it blew over just before my tee time and I was able to play. The course was in good conditions but there was some water in the bunkers and on occasion I saw a big splash when my drive hit the fairway.
I didn't start out too well quadruple boogieing the 11th hole (my second of the round) and managed to shoot a 48 on the back nine. At the turn there was bit of a delay which allowed me to work on my putting. This worked out well because I birdies the first hole on my way to shooting a 40 on the front. I squeezed out a nice 88 which was very nice considering I haven't played in other a month.
This was the first time I got to use my Upro GPS unit. It was a lot of fun logging how far I was hitting my drives and knowing exact distances to the front, back and middle of a green. I ended up hitting seven greens which was a very good day for me. I measured my drives out at 255yards on average. Unfortunately I had a lousy day driving the ball and only hit four fairways. I'll post more about the Upro later once I've gotten a few rounds under my belt.
