Playing Halo 3 and ODST
Ever since ODST dropped (can't resist using that) almost two weeks ago I've been spending a lot of time playing Halo 3 multiplayer. ODST comes with Halo 3 multiplayer on a separate disk that includes all 25maps. When Halo 3 first came out I was not impressed with the first two map packs they released. I felt they were too large and basically crap. With the last batch of maps I think they finally have some nice compact maps that are fun for groups of all sizes to play.
With the new map packs I've also been working on padding my gamer score. One thing that is nice about Halo3 is there are a ton of achievement to earn during multiplayer. Most multiplayer games have crappy achievements and crappy multiplayer. Halo 3 has the best multiplayer around and most of the time people are pretty cool.
Now that I've completed the campaign in ODST I'm working on finding all the audio files to resolve the game's secondary story. So far I've found 27 of the audio files and I know the 30th one is found on the level Data Hive. So now I'm running around New Membosa in the dark looking for clues to find the last two audio files. The game will give you slight clues to point you in the direction of these audio files. The billboards will direct you towards them and the game will give other hints like police car alarms going off when you are near an undiscovered audio file. Pay attention to the cars because this will help you find those tricky ones.
Right now I'm playing on Normal difficulty to make life easier for meas I search for these audio files. I have to say there is a significant difference between heroic and Normal in ODST. On Normal you can really jump in guns blazing just like any other Halo game. On Heroic if you play like that you're going to get smoked fast.
I have also tried out the Firefight mode. Unfortunately only one or two people on my friends list have bought ODST so I tried it by myself. For some stupid reason Bungie chose not to add Firefight to match making which ends up meaning you can only play with people from your friends list or split screen. This is my biggest gripe about the game because the campaign is very short and three new maps for Halo 3isn't worth the price. By adding multiplayer to ODST you would have added tons of hours of game play to the fans of this game. Instead people are trying to arrange games in internet forums and social networking sites.
