Sneak Peek: Handicap

I've been working hard lately on writing a new golf application for the Android platform.  I got the bug sometime last year that it would be fun to play around and build an app.  I've gotten this bug before but never followed through.  The XNA game never happened but it was nice to learn C#.  Well the android app didn't have as much hassle involved to get started so by some crazy thing it happened!  I've created an app and here is a preview.

I had a few ideas on what to actually build but nothing really worked out.  I may go back and work on those early projects that never happened but right now I'm working on Handicap.  A few years back I built a golf web application for keeping track of my handicap and some other golf stats.  I had originally used it as a tool to learn new technologies I wasn't using at work but wanted to be using.  I used my original design for Handicap and applied it to my android app.

Right now the app is very raw.  I have yet to run it outside the emulator and want to make a few changes before I make it available for public consumption.  I'd say the app is in very early alpha state.  I'm hoping to add some more features around stat tracking, course entry and even possibly capturing round stats as you play.  It would be really nice to find a service that provided course information on the web so people wouldn't have to manually add courses.

Take a look at the screen shots I captured below.  These are just the early views and maybe I'll try to add some more complex UI design as I go.  I am running this on a 2.1 emulator but I can easily slide down to 1.6 or 1.5 since I'm not using any 2.1 features.
